Amat Forest

Amat Forest is the area near the head of the fine strath which stretches behind Ardgay, known as Strathcarron, not to be confused with the better-known Strathcarron near Kyle of Lochalsh. It is the gateway to a number of fine glens and straths with traditional routes through to the west coast - Strath Cuilleannach and Croick, Glen Alladale, Gleann Mor, and Glencalvie. There is a car park near Glencalvie Lodge with tracks going into the hills. Many of the tracks are good for cycling with normal bicyles. There are some fine waterfalls. There are several Corbetts and Grahams in the area.
