Balblair Woods near Bonar Bridge and Invershin, Sutherland

pictures below text ↓

Balblair Woods (not to be confused with the other Balblair Woods at Littleferry near Golspie) can be accessed directly from our B&B in Culrain via the Invershin Footbridge and a short walk down the main road (about 200 metres) to the signed entrance into the woods. The walks are shared with mountain bike trails so please keep your eyes and ears open for mountain bikers! There are exits from the woods near Bonar Bridge, so you can walk all the way into Bonar Bridge for refreshments and a bus back to Invershin (or train from nearby Ardgay) if you are tired. The views are magnificent on a clear day and you can see the mountains of the west such as Ben More Assynt, and, from the furthest north part of the trail network, Cul Mor and Suilven.
