Directions from the North

From the North East (A9 via Dornoch)

This is the route you are likely to use if you are heading from places such as John O'Groats, Thurso, Wick, Helmsdale, Brora, and Golspie.

Carry on past Dornoch on the A9. Look for a turning to the right onto the A949 (before you reach the Dornoch Bridge) signposted for Bonar Bridge, Clashmore, Spinningdale and Lairg. Once you reach Bonar Bridge turn left over the iron bridge (on the A836) and head for Ardgay.

From the North (A836 via Lairg)

This is the route you are likely to use if you are heading from villages such as Tongue or Bettyhill on the north coast, or if you are in the far north west coastal area (e.g. Durness, Scourie).

Aim for Lairg and then follow the A836 for Bonar Bridge. Once you reach Bonar Bridge turn right over the bridge and head for Ardgay.
