Map at Foot of Page
The directions shown on this page show the route from Ardgay to Culrain.
The directions within Culrain to our B&B are now shown on a separate page for clarity.
If you have come via the south side of the Dornoch Firth (i.e. via the Dornoch Bridge Roundabout and Edderton, or via the Struie Road), you will need to turn left in Ardgay. As the A836 goes through Ardgay for Bonar Bridge, veering right, you will see a smaller road in front of you signposted for Culrain, Inveroykel and Croick, and a smaller sign for Carbisdale Forest Trails. This is your left turning (though the turn seems more like straight on with a slight left veer).
If, on the other hand, you have come via Bonar Bridge, you will need to turn right in Ardgay. As the A836 goes through Ardgay from Bonar Bridge, veering left, you will see a smaller road to the right of you signposted for Culrain, Inveroykel and Croick, and a smaller sign for Carbisdale Forest Trails. This is your turning to the right.
You should now be on Church Street as depicted on the Google map below. After about 1 mile you pass Gledfield Primary School on your right, and the road bends round to the right (ignoring a road heading straight in front of you here). You should now be on the Culrain Inveroykel Road as depicted on the Google map below.
About quarter of a mile further on, you will cross a bridge over the River Carron, and shortly after you will see a turning on the right for Culrain so follow that road for another 3 miles until you reach Culrain railway station. You should still be on the Culrain Inveroykel Road as depicted on the Google map below..
Please click here for the final directions from Culrain railway station to our door. Please do not use the postcode on your Satnav, as postcode areas in the Highlands are enormous and you will end up miles from us!
PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY NEW BOOKINGS DUE TO A PENDING MOVE. HOWEVER YOU CAN STILL VIEW THE PAGES FOR USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THE AREA. APOLOGIES.
