Mountain Bike Trails

We have a large lockable shed for storing bikes, a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes, and can provide a laundry service for muddy biking clothes.

There are a series of mountain bike trails in the woods behind our Bed and Breakfast in the Carbisdale Woods, right on our doorstep.

The Carbisdale Woods Mountain Bike Trails are part of the Kyle of Sutherland Mountain Bike Trails and run through the delightful Carbisdale Woods. Almost adjacent to the Carbisdale Woods trails, are the Balblair Mountain Bike Trails which run through Balbair Woods. There is a footbridge across the Kyle of Sutherland at Invershin which enables you to get from one set of trails to the other though you will have to carry your bikes up or down a series of steps in order to do so.

There are also mountain bike trails near Rosehall (the Sika Trail) and Golspie (the Wildcat Trail). Golspie is also accessible by train from Culrain where our B&B is based.

Off-road tracks suitable for bikes

At the head of Strathcarron in the Amat Forest area there is are several excellent quality landrover tracks used by mountain bikers. These include the delightful Glen Alladale, Gleann Mor which takes you into the heart of the north Highlands of Scotland and through to Strath Vaich, Strath Cuileannach which takes you through to Glen Einig (and eventually Ullapool) and Glencalvie which takes you through to Strath Rusdale. There are probably others though these are the ones we know about.

It is fairly easy to cycle all the way through to Strathcarron on a combination of forestry tracks and quiet single track roads, so the above routes do not require loading your bikes onto a car.

We welcome you to come here and enjoy a mountain biking holiday, taking advantage of our special deals for groups and discounts for stays of more than one night.
