Glen Einig

A native pinewood reserve with large numbers of native deciduous trees make this an ideal place to visit in the autumn. The tracks through the area are easy and lead to fine mountain scenery further on. Glen Einig is very near Oykel Bridge and is about 16 miles from our B&B in Culrain. It forms part of the Scottish National Trail, a route devised by the famous walker, Cameron MacNeish. Glen Einig is an access route for Seana Bhraigh, a remote Munro, and also for Carn Ban, a remote Corbett (which can also be accessed from Gleann Mor).

There is also a route through to Strath Cuileannach and Croick in the Amat Forest area, though this is best walked from the Croick end if you have someone to meet you at Oykel Bridge where there is a hotel. From the climb out of Glen Einig over to Strath Cuileannach there are fine views of Ben More Assynt and the Sutherland moutains such as Suilven.

On the opposite side of the River Einig there is a short and easy walk to the fine Enarg Falls which have fascination rock formations too.
