Glencalvie is in the Amat Forest area, at the head of Strathcarron. The car park from which walks into Glencalvie commence is about 14 miles from our B&B in Culrain.

There is a wonderful circular walk which starts going up Glencalvie with fine views of Carn Chuinneag which looms ahead, then along a track above the glen with magnificent views of the Diebidale Forest area and Carn A Choin Dearg, that eventually comes back down with superb views of the Amat Forest area - an area which looks almost like something out of Lord of the Rings from there! The walk starts and ends with the track through the beautiful lodge grounds so please stick to the track and follow the footpath signs, as the lodge grounds are private, and please do not take motorised vehicles through here.

Glencalvie is the main access route for the Corbett, Carn Chuinneag. This dominates the walk up the Glen. There is also a track through to Strath Rusdale from here which is good for mountain bikes, and tracks into the Diebedale Forest, though these tracks are dead ends.
