The Highland Pictish Trail

Our B&B in Culrain is well situated for exploring Easter Ross and Sutherland which has a significant Pictish Trail with stones at:

There are other Pictish artefacts and museums slightly further afield in places such as Dingwall, Strathpeffer, Inverness and Rosemarkie, all fairly easy to get to from our B&B.

The Picts are a mysterious people as their culture and language suddenly disappeared from Scotland. It is probable that their language was a form of Brethonic (Ancient Welsh; p-celtic), one of the two main branches of the Celtic languages. This is reflected in many placenames in Scotland.
