Balvaig Cottage Bed and Breakfast, Sutherland.
The Single / Twin Bedroom.

Can also be adapted as a triple room using extra space in the nearside righthand corner (see below)

Balvaig Cottage Bed and Breakfast, Sutherland. The Single / Twin Bedroom.

We also have a double ensuite bedroom which can be adapted as a twin bedroom if required.

Normally the room is made up as a twin as in the picture above, but for longer stay single guests, we remove the divan bed by the window in order to provide more space. The room can also be adapted to take a third bed in order to extend sleeping capacity - this would typically be a futon with a mattress on top.

There is a shared bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower. A tray with coffee and teas, kettle, cup, etc., is provided. We provide an electric heater which can warm up the room very quickly if need be. The room usually stays warm for hours due to the high levels of insulation and the heat recovery system, ideal for winter.

The bedroom faces east and can be lovely in the morning when there is a clear sky - in the summer the sunrise over Balblair Hill and Sidhean Mor, and above the trees of the adjacent Carbisdale Woods, can be enjoyed from the bedroom window. In the winter the sunrise over Bonar Bridge is at more of an angle but can still be seen. Sometimes the morning sky is red and orange and the trees are pink. Beautiful.
