Accommodation for Workers and Staff near Bonar Bridge and Ardgay

We welcome workers, and we provide flexible budget accommodation for staff working on local projects, such as windfarms, power lines, forestry, hydro-electric schemes, mobile phone masts, the North Highland railway line, etc. We are very friendly and informal.

  • The longer the stay the lower the nightly rate (we are best suited to stays of several nights or longer as we prefer not to tie up the rooms in advance for short stays)
  • Flexible mealtimes
  • Full board option
  • Room-only option
  • Come and go as you please policy - no closing times
  • Open all year round

In most cases we use the single / twin bedroom (which can be adapted for three people). We also sometimes use the double ensuite room (which can similarly be adapted), but this is more expensive and is more often used by holidaymakers.

We are best suited for those who wish peace and quiet, often the case with shift workers; we do not have a television, but there is free wi-fi. We are not licenced and we do not encourage alcohol consumption (other than very small amounts with your food). We have a nice garden with seating areas to which there is full access.

We are about 4/5 miles from Ardgay, which, in turn, is less than a mile from Bonar Bridge. We are quite well situated if you are working at the Achany, Novar, Beinn Tharsuinn, Lairg, or Rosehall windfarms, on the mobile masts at Struie and Balblair, the Loch Buidhe electric scheme, and the Wick-Inverness railway line between Tain and Lairg. The road between Culrain and Ardgay, and to Rosehall, is single track with passing places, so this has be factored in assessing your time in getting to work. However the road is not particularly busy and there are enough straight runs where you can see ahead quite well to be able to drive at a reasonable pace.
